Warrnambool line passengers to save nothing

Daniel Andrews has misled south-west Victorians, promising savings they aren’t eligible for, Member for South West Coast Roma Britnell says.

On Wednesday the state government announced “cheaper and fairer travel for regional Victoria” – which involves discounts for passengers who buy long term Myki travel passes.

“The announcement is completely misleading, these savings are only for a selected few,” Mrs Britnell said.

“Daniel Andrews has cherry-picked which regional Victorians will benefit and once again he’s forgotten Warrnambool and the south-west.

“It won’t mean cheaper or fairer pricing for Warrnambool passengers. The Warrnambool line isn’t ticketed with Myki, so passengers on these services will save nothing.

“To say these changes will benefit regional Victorians when they only benefit those with Myki passes shows how little Daniel Andrews knows about the whole state.”

Mrs Britnell said it was time for Daniel Andrews and the State Government to pay the south-west the respect it deserves.

“Daniel Andrews needs to start doing what he promised and govern for all Victorians.”
