100 days since invite, 0 action from Minister Mikakos

Today marks 100 days since I first invited Minister for Health Jenny Mikakos to visit the Warrnambool Base Hospital so she could see for herself the desperate need for upgrade.

The Minister has completely ignored my invitation, not even having the courtesy to respond.

Within those 100 days Minister Mikakos has visited Terang, but failed to visit to Warrnambool.

She has also passed legislation to increase nurse-to-patient ratios at various hospitals around the state, but failed to include Warrnambool Base Hospital in the legislation – despite making a promise during the election campaign Labor would improve ratios in Warrnambool.

The Minister for Health must visit the Warrnambool Base Hospital and see for herself the enormous pressure she is placing on the hard working nurses and doctors.

During her photo opportunity in Terang, she said there was no timeline for funding the redevelopment, condemning the doctors and nurses to more uncertainty

Everyone knows this project has to be done; there is no question about that, however, The Andrews Labor Government continue to drag its feet.

It shows just how high on the priority list south West Coast is for the city-centric Labor Government.
