Britnell expresses alarm at lack of investment in key regional roads.

Roma Britnell MP, Member for South Werst Coast today expressed deep concern about the Andrews Labor Government’s lack of investment in key regional roads, including the Hopkins Highway, Myamyn-Macarthur Road and Terang-Mortlake Road.

Despite repeated calls from the South West Coast community, the Andrews Government has failed to allocate any funds to these critical roads, which are vital for the safe and efficient movement of people and goods in the region.

Only 3.1km of the Woolsthorpe-Heywood Road has been repaired, despite the desperate need for extensive repairs and upgrades to the entire road network.

“The neglect of these roads by the Andrews Labor Government is simply unacceptable. The people of South West Coast rely on these roads every day, and the lack of investment is putting their safety and livelihoods at risk” Ms Britnell said.

“The Hopkins Highway, Myamyn-Macarthur Road and Terang-Mortlake Road are all in urgent need of repair and upgrade, yet the Andrews Labor Government has chosen to turn a blind eye to the issue.”

“It is time for the Andrews Labor Government to take action and invest in the roads that matter to regional communities. Our region deserves better.”

“I call on Daniel Andrews to take immediate action and allocate funds for these vital upgrades before it’s too late”.
