My question is for the Minister for Health in the other place. I again ask: will the minister visit my electorate to discuss the much-needed second-stage redevelopment of the Warrnambool Base Hospital?
Minister, as you would be aware, South West Healthcare was last week named the health service of the year after continuing to meet its targets and performance indicators.
This is an extraordinary feat, given the staff at the Warrnambool Base Hospital have been dealing with an emergency department that is struggling to cope with growing demand, tight spaces and an operating theatre that also needs to be expanded and upgraded so they can manage responsibly the situation they have of not having enough theatres.
Minister, when you finally visit I hope you will bring the chequebook with you to fund the much-needed redevelopment.
The Andrews Labor government has been ignoring this for far too long—for five years. So bring that chequebook and fund our hospital.
