Rail announcement welcomed

Member for South West Coast Roma Britnell welcomes this morning’s announcement of $100 million to upgrade the Warrnambool rail line.
Mrs Britnell said it was a win for the South West Coast community who made it very clear they were sick of the constant delays and problems.
“Every phone call, every letter, every email the community sent has been taken to the minister, to show how we have had enough,” Mrs Britnell said.
“We’ve been a loud, united voice as a community, calling for major improvements and this announcement is the result of that.
“It shows once again that when we unit behind something, we get results.
“This is an opportunity to bring our rail line up to world class standards and it must be done right.
“If we can reduce travel times to and from Melbourne, and provide a comfortable and reliable service it will help our region grow and prosper.
“We provide the answers to Melbourne’s congestion problems, we just need great schools, good hospitals and reliable transport links to realise that potential.”
